Aurelene Maun

Aurelene is a Filipino-Canadian artist and facilitator based in Toronto. With over seven years in professional animation as a background painter, her practice evolved from building fictional children's shows to creating real creative spaces for community storytelling. She holds a Diploma in 3D Animation from Centennial College and a Bachelor of Arts in Animation from De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde. Her artistic practice extends beyond animation to include mural projects, as well as wood and paper art.

Outside her professional work, Aurelene continues to advocate for art and animation in her community, believing that they should be accessible and that creativity is a bridge that connects people across cultures.

Art Facilitation — Stop Motion Workshop

Facilitated a free holiday-themed "Bounce into a Snowman" stop-motion animation workshop in collaboration with JAYU, engaging kids, youth, and young adults. Participants created festive characters and short films using hands-on animation and mobile filmmaking, encouraging creativity, collaboration, and playful storytelling.

Mural Art — VIEWS

Created a vibrant mural at Next Generation Arts, a youth-focused community space, promoting creativity, self-expression, and belonging. The piece reflects diverse narratives and connects youth to both their own voices and their community.

Portrait Painting Exhibition — Woven Together

Participated in Woven Together II, a portrait exhibition presented by Next Generation Arts, a youth-led community space in Toronto. This event brought artists together to showcase their unique interpretations of portraiture.
